Ellen Pompeo Is "100% Open" to Working With Patrick Dempsey Again

After being named one of this year's Disney Legends at D23, Ellen Pompeo revealed in an interview with Extra that she would definitely be open to working with one of her most iconic costars from "Grey's Anatomy" again: Patrick Dempsey. Pompeo began talking about her McDreamy costar by saying, "We've done some of our greatest work together, right? We are very proud I think collectively, both of us, are very proud of the work we did. We had a great time doing it and we created something really iconic."

When asked if she would ever consider joining forces with Dempsey again, her response was ambiguous but optimistic, placing most of the focus on the "Grey's Anatomy" fan base. "Maybe we have texted about it," Pompeo teased. "I think the fans would absolutely love it. We would be 100% open to it, I would anyway, if the material was right. I think it would be so fun for the fans."

Pompeo also discussed her new role in the upcoming season with Extra. It was recently revealed that she would be taking a backseat for the 19th season, making a physical appearance in only eight of the 19 upcoming episodes. However, Meredith Grey will still be a constant presence on the show. "I'm still doing the voice-over in all of them," she said.

Pompeo added, "I'm going to still stay in the company and do a limited series for Hulu. I just need to take a little time away and do something new." Perhaps a collaboration with Dempsey isn't too far-fetched after all?
