15 Times Celebrities Predicted Their Own Success on Twitter

If 2021 was the year we learned to care for ourselves better — even in small ways — 2022 is the year we're ready to go all out and make our dreams come true. To kick-start the new year with some much-needed inspiration, Twitter started a thread on Jan. 19 sharing tweets from celebrities who predicted their fame and success before it came true. "If you can dream it, Tweet it," Twitter captioned a photo of Megan Thee Stallion superimposed with a tweet the singer posted on May 27, 2014. "I need a team bc I promise rap gone take off for me," Megan wrote over six years before the release of her 2020 album, Good News.

But Megan isn't the only celebrity who manifested a future full of success. "I'm gonna be nominated for an oscar one day. Already claiming it," Hair Love director Matthew A. Cherry wrote in a tweet on June 2, 2012. Nearly 10 years later, on Jan. 15, 2022, Matthew wrote, "Literally unreal. Manifest your dreams! It costs you nothing and you never know, one day it might come true," referring to his 2020 Academy Award for best animated short.

Between tweets written by Lil Nas X, Issa Rae, Demi Lovato, Megan Thee Stallion, and more, there's something to be said for the power of hope and determination. See which celebrities had the foresight to predict their fame here.
