Tell Mommy: Does Your Child Go By Another Name?

A child by another name is still your child. You spent months agonizing over what name to give your lil one and then one day she decided that she'd go by something different. Most tots have wild imaginations so it's hilarious to hear what they come up with. Brad Pitt recently revealed to Oprah that his daughter, Shiloh, will only answer to the name John right now. He said:

She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing, so we’ve got to call her John. "Shi, do you want …" – "John. I’m John." And then I’ll say, "John, would you like some orange juice?" And she goes, "No!" So, you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people.

I'm sure you have your own funny tales to tell, so what names have your kids requested (or demanded) you call them?

    That's absolutely adorable.

My kids have only gone by their names or nicknames, even though I tried to get my younger son to go by Jack.

No I just call my son different names but they are all his names.
    His name is David Lexis.
So I call him David and when he isn't paying attention to me, I say LEXIS!

    lol.

I also call him by his Nickname which is Pikachu. lol.
When he was younger his cheeks were so red and cute.
So we started calling him Pikachu.

He still answers to that and he's 9! lol.

My daughter is almost 4 and insists on being called Princess Leia half the time. Drives me nuts since I'm not a Star Wars fan.

Allie (3) is in this new phase...

    Allie: I love you mama
Me: I love you too Allie
    Allie: Call me Baby
    Me: I love you, baby
    Allie: Call me Sweet Baby
Me: I love you Sweet Baby.
    Allie: That's better, Mama

So she wants me to refer to her as my baby, or sweet baby

When my daughter started kindergarten, she could read and write so she started writing "Diana" instead of Kate on all her work and insisting that it was her name. Since then, she picks a name every couple of months, usually some variation of all her names. She used her middle name for a few months.

My grand daughter (5) insists on being called Princess Jaguar. Something to do with Dora the Explorer no doubt.

Right now my grandson is obsessed with spiderman and Kung Fu Panda (or Kung Fu Pammy as he likes to say)

Her name is Kayla which most of us call her with the exception of her dad who nicknamed her princess and has been calling her that since before she was born.
