We loved these but just couldn't justify the expense for a high chair. We went for the $140 Chicco Polly, instead.

At first I really wanted this chair and almost bought it, but on doing a lot of thinking about my lifestyle realized that I was really going to miss a tray for when baby was first learning to eat. Now that he's eating, I think I made the right choice! We opted instead for the Boon Flair chair, which has a removable tray and still allows the child to sit at the table with the family. But for now, the tray is great. Plus, it has no seams at all and is so easy to clean! And it's pretty cool looking.

isn't she pregnant? i dunno how heavy that chair is, but i'm pretty sure Leiv coulda picked it up, or maybe they coulda delivered it? especially since it's so expensive!

It's not that heavy. She's lifting Alexander, I doubt the chair's heavier than him.

We went for a much cheaper version as well, and it's currently on its fourth child. We lent it to my brother-in-law for their son and got it back when I had my daughter. It still looks brand new and cost like $50 in 2000. But we also don't use high chairs for long, so buying an expensive one would be really stupid for us.

I debated for a month about whether to get this chair, which I thought would be a more long-term investment, or a cheaper one and ultimately, we figured we'd really need the tray. Thank goodness because one of the most fun activities for my little guy is feeding himself those little baby puffs off his tray!

Does this one really not have a tray? How is that helpful once the child's feeding themselves?

I also don't think my plastic high chair is an "eyesore" at all. I think it's adorable.

No tray - crazy, right? I looked online thinking surely I was missing something but the picture you see in the little slideshow section with the red leg restraint thing is the only "baby kit" they sell for it.

No, it doesn't have a tray. The idea being that your child eats right at the table with you. Intriguing yes, but I've found the tray really helpful in these early stages (like the puffs eating masonsmama mentioned). Plus, the mess is easier to clean off a tray. However, like I mentioned, my tray is removable and the chair slides up to our table, so I'd love my son to eat with us as soon as he's a bit older. That's the plan!

I went with the boon flair for the same reason schnappycat! At first, my husband and I thought it would be great to have our son eat at the table with us. Wrong! That lead to dents in the table where he would band his spoon or toy. Oh- and the food mashed into the table cloth every night was not fun to clean.

Now that he is 19 months, we just push the boon flair up to the table with out the tray and he eats with us. I still love the stokke high chair, but that tray was definately needed!

Actually, I just checked our eyesore plastic high chair and all trays can be removed and it fits perfectly at the table. It just won't take them into adulthood like this one would.

Even in my very modern house I am very happy to have something as mundane as my fischer-price rain forrest high chair. He makes a mess of it and I can clean it and not worry. At this point I can't imagine not having a tray.

We have one of these and love it. It takes up less room than a conventional high chair and looks much nicer.

i and my son love the stokke tripp trapp... 1 downside no tabletop...

We received one of these as a gift and Olivia loves it.
